My Go-To Sites For Health Advice
My passion for health and wellness stemmed during my late husband’s second cancer diagnosis. I became frustrated by the lack of direction and advice we were receiving at his doctor appointments and I wanted more integrative approaches to symptom management. There was never talk of supporting his body through treatments with nutrition and other lifestyle changes, and so I dove down a rabbit hole and never returned. Maybe you can relate?
Below is a list of my favorites go-to’s. Dive in and read some articles, listen to a podcast, or grab a book.

IBS and FODMAP Intolerance – Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is characterized by chronic, relapsing symptoms including lower abdominal pain and discomfort, bloating, wind, distension, and altered bowel habit (ranging from diarrhea to constipation) but with no abnormal pathology. One in seven adults suffers from IBS. FODMAPs are a group of sugars that are not completely digested or absorbed in our intestines. When FODMAPs reach the small intestine, they move slowly, attracting water. When they pass into the large intestine, FODMAPs are fermented by gut bacteria, producing gas as a result. The extra gas and water cause the intestinal wall to stretch and expand. Because people with IBS have a highly sensitive gut, ‘stretching’ the intestinal wall causes exaggerated sensations of pain and discomfort
